About me

Hi there! My name is Afash Haleem. I am a fourth year medical student at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School interested in pursuing a career as a otolaryngologist. My research investigates access to timely SSNHL care, payer negotiated pricing, head and neck cancer outcomes, cochlear implants and auditory brainstem implants, and comorbidity indexes in otolaryngology. At NJMS, I help lead the Muslim Students Association, Health Policy Interest Group, and ENT Interest Group. I also help direct NJMS Knotted, which runs suturing workshops at a local high school to expose students to the field of surgery. I am also the founder of the Community Audiometry Screening Clinic, which provides free hearing screenings and hearing health education to the Newark community through our partnership with the Newark Public library. In my free time, I love to cook, travel, and take film photography. Thanks for visiting my website!
